The South Coast Wine Train tour operated by Rail Tours Australia and Beyond the Vine Wine Tours in conjunction with the Steamranger Heritage Railway takes the hard work out of wine touring whilst adding some of the nostalgia of yesteryear thrown in for good measure.

Travel aboard the Steamranger "Southern Encounter' train from Mount Barker to Strathalbyn, where you begin your wine touring through the vineyards of the Langhorne Creek, Currency Creek and the Fleurieu wine regions.

People are starting to talk more about Langhorne Creek as the hidden gem of the Australian wine regions which is surprisingly so close to Adelaide.

Bremerton, Bleasdale, Lake Breeze, Angas Plains, Rusticana, names we have all heard of and have enjoyed by the glass or the bottle, but didn't know where they came from. Learn more as we visit 2 wineries for tastings and tour the region prior to stopping for a scrumptious 2 course lunch.

Next arrive at the Port of Goolwa, home to the Steam Exchange Brewery, Fleurieu Distillery and 90 Mile Wines in the Wharf Barrel Shed. More tastings can be enjoyed at your own leisure or you can grab a bargain at the local markets.

Enjoy the option to stay at Goolwa and linger longer over a refreshing local ale, whisky or wine or continue onward to Victor Harbor to reboard the South Coast Wine Train for the railway journey along the coast.

Sit back, unwind and watch the world travel past your carriage window as we head along the beaches of the South Coast, past Goolwa and through the wheat fields and farmland and back towards Strathalbyn and Mount Barker. You may wish to take the opportunity to enjoy a local produce platter from the regions for your return wine train journey.

On return to Mount Barker, say farewell to your travelling friends or be returned to Adelaide city with a new experience, a bottle or two of great local wine and memories you can share for a life time.

This tour operates only on selected Sundays between June to November and limited seats are available on each tour.

Other dates will be announced throughout the year for the Summer Season, just in time for the Christmas season celebration with friends and work colleagues.

Join Rail Tours Australia in celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Booleroo Steam and Traction Preservation Society's Annual Rally on a 2 day tour covering parts of the Mid North of South Australia and also the Flinders Ranges.

The Booleroo Steam Traction Preservation Society was formed by a group of local far-mers in 1968. Since then the society has acquired an enviable collection of tractors,

steam exhibits, stationary engines and equipment associated with our rural industrial and agricultural heritage.

The annual rally is where members of the society get to share their knowledge and sh-owcase the fabulous machines that form an integral part of our Australian heritage.

The 2 day tour will start from Adelaide travelling to Hamley Bridge where we will retrace sections of the old broad gauge Hamley Bridge to Gladstone railway travelling through townships such as Balaklava, Blyth and Brinkworth.

Visits will be made to Crystal Brook and Port Pirie before boarding the Pichi Richi Railway's Twilight Explorer train from Quorn to Woolshed Flat and return.

After a nights accommodation at Port Augusta, travel to Booleroo Centre and spend most of Sunday at the iconic Mid North steam and traction rally. Be entertained by demonstrations, the Grand Parade and much more as the society and the town celebrate the great milestone of 50 years of the society and the annual rally.

Return to Adelaide by 7.30 pm Sunday night.

Spend a great day out with the family or a group of friends during the summer holidays in Adelaide at the beach side suburb of Semaphore. Escape the heat, go for a swim and then jump aboard the miniature steam railway and travel along the beach front from Semaphore to Fort Glanville and return.

Sit back and experience the coastal breeze cooling you down as you enjoy views of the sand and surf from your carriage as the train makes the 2 km journey along the water front.

On returning to Semaphore, why not stay around and enjoy the Semaphore Summer Carnival or the family can go shopping or stop off for a bite to eat at one of the many shops or restaurants on Semaphore Road.

The Semaphore Miniature Railway is operated by the National Railway Museum at Port Adelaide and has been a favourite for many a local and tourist alike since it first started operating back in 1992
